Of course there’s a catch. You have to get accepted into the program. But if you think about it, it’s not exactly an impossible task. The program’s primary goal is to get you a job in a major US corporation. So if you get accepted, then you’ll be starting work as part of the tech team there and start a career path that can take you anywhere from computer science grad student to senior software engineer.
The problem is that getting into a major US corporation is not as easy as it seems. In order to get into the capital one development program, you have to fill out an application and submit it to the company. There is no way to tell if your application contains any secret information, because the application form is sent out to every applicant. So anyone who applies will be sent an invitation to the office where the application is processed.
This is where the problems start. If you’re selected for the company, in order to get into the development program, you have to pass a test. The test questions are not random and are based on technology that the company has been using for years. The company does not allow the development program to be graded on anything other than a single question. If you fail the test, you’re rejected, and you have to start over the next.
The company has a long history of testing their applications on the technology they use, and if you fail the company will have proof that you did not pass the test of your soul. Not only that, but if you fail the test you will not be allowed to work on the application, or you will be forced to work on a different application entirely.
