The Internet of Things is a large industry with many new products and services being introduced every day. But there is a lot of confusion about what an IoT product is. So many definitions are thrown around, and I have heard people compare it to a car, a phone, a washing machine, an appliance, an iPad, or even a laptop.

I’m sure we’ll continue seeing new products and services being introduced in the future, but the actual technology that goes into them is still pretty new and untested. When you’re talking about tech companies, it’s easy to see that they’re mostly focused on consumer products.
It goes without saying that the next big industry is of consumer tech. Its called connected cars, and the devices that are on the market today are the most amazing of all. Theyre very cheap, with the highest quality components, and use the latest technologies so they work like a charm. They are almost like a new car, except they are almost free. Thats why weve been waiting for a long time for a connected car.
There is no doubt that connected cars will be very popular, with lots of money and lots of competition (the Nissan Leaf being the best example). But the question is, are the connected cars we see today really the best or the most advanced? The reality is that the competition comes from many sources. The biggest competitor to the connected car is the car itself.
